2021/3/4

Today for class, I worked on my blog post that I haven't done yet.       I finished my comparison essay last night at home since I have so much to do for Friday. I have a test and a debate on politics on Friday so I have to prepare for both. I am really concerned that my teachers don't communicate with each other and give us tasks specifically on the same day. I know that I need to organize what I need to do and schedule myself, but I feel like it's tough to have a debate and a test on the same day.           I'm really bad at scheduling myself and I never write and post blogs on time. I wrote most of my blogs on the same day, weeks after the actual class was held. Since I'm going to be a high schooler soon, I genuinely need to improve on my scheduling skills or I won't be able to pass my classes.

2021/3/2

Today we were given time to do whatever we haven't finished yet. So I worked on my comparison essay. It took me a decent amount of time to organize what I wanted to say. A few of my peers told me that they had already turned their documents in and I hadn't done anything yet. This fact hesitated me a little bit and made me hurry.      Mr. Paterson told us this class that we aren't having the test that he told us about last week. I was really interested in the quiz and the system or program that he was planning to use. However, I felt a little relieved because there are so many subjects that have tests already and I want to go home early. Less subjects less time in school for the exam week.

2021/2/25

Today we were given time to finish anything that we hadn't finished yet, including our comparison essay on academic and pleasure reading. I was surprised to hear that the paper and every other work would have to be finished by next week. I didn't write anything for my essay yet so I need to work on it right away or I'm not going to finish it in time. On 3/5 we have so many assignments due on that day, I have to plan myself thoroughly.      Another thing that surprised me was the news that Mr. Paterson would give us a test on exam week. But I was glad to hear that it would be multiple choice and it wouldn't be hard. I am really curious what that system is, I thought that if we implement that in schools it would be much more efficient than paper-based tests.

Stargirl Review

I chose this book, Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli, for my pleasure reading because I saw a movie trailer for this novel. It was released last year, and I came upon it because it starred one of my favorites artists, which is Grace Vanderwaal. Also, I thought that it fit my preferences. The assignment that was given last semester about our own preferences, helped me understand what I really like to read. Before, I never really thought about what I like to read so this was the first time actually picking a novel from my preferences. From the movie trailer, I could predict that the book would be about identity and being different from other people. I was really excited to read it.      Leo Brolock is the protagonist of this novel. One day, a girl calling herself Stargirl shows up in Mica High. She was different, she wore "different" clothes, like colorful dresses, she has a pet rat, and she always holds a ukulele on her back. She sang in the cafeteria in fron...
