Today Mr. Paterson gave us an activity to test our creativity. We were given instructions on connecting 9 circles in a square pattern with continuous straight lines. The goal was to test us on how we can think differently and outside the box in order to complete this task. I've never done this activity before so it was very shocking to notice how bad I am doing on this. I only got the solution for 3 lines. What shocked me most was when Mr. Paterson mentioned that squares are not limited to 3x3, I drew the cross shape on my paper. However, when he showed the example of different number circles on each side, I erased the square because I assumed that this wasn't allowed. However, when when Mr. Paterson gaves us an example of the solution for 3 lines he showed us the cross shaped square. From this I realized how often I assume something isn't allowed just because it feels wrong. I also noticed that this way of thinking is getting in the way of my creativity. By doing thi...
